truly proved to me my true purpose in life

Meditation Is So Hard? If Patrick Star can meditate we certainly can!

Number #1 I don’t think I have the time

That’s just the ‘go to’ excuse for ‘meditation is so hard’ or anything else that takes a little hard mental labor.

A favorite quote of my husband is, “If you don’t have the time to do it right when do you think you’ll have the time to do it over.”  The jury is in, the debate is over.  Meditation is one of the most beneficial activities one can participate in to have a happy, healthy, prosperous, fulfilling life. We are talking 15 minutes a day for all that great stuff.  What are you thinking? Oh wait you’re not.

Number #2 It’s to hard to sit still

I don’t know if this is a throwback, or what, to the days of parents, teachers, aunties, coaches, whoever telling us we had to sit still.

Kids are not supposed to sit still, they just have to sometimes but tapping a toe or fingers should be allowed. Maybe that why you believe meditation is so hard.

Sorry you’re a grown up now and if you don’t have control over your body you NEVER have control over your mind. One must control the mind to find peace and joy. Get over it and sit still.

Number #3 I can’t quite my mind

Really do we have to go there?! There’s a reason you can’t quite your mind, dipshit, because of never trying and slogging through until it becomes habit. Just like any other habit. Sloth! That’s all it is pure and simple.

Number #4 I don’t know how to meditate

That’s just to lame.  There are a billion resources but if you want the only one with quantifiable evidence that it works then Follow the Master Key System and take the Master Key Experience Course

Number #5 Meditation is boring

You know what they say about bored people? They say bored people are boring. These types need constant entertainment to keep themselves from thinking or feeling anything.  Terrified of feeling. I feel sad for these people and they need meditation more than any of us.

If this is you I implore you to try – start with 2 minutes and work at it.  I promise it’s worth it.

Number #6 I am not spiritual and don’t do weird things

You can practice meditation without needing to believe in anything. As a matter of fact it’s probably better if you don’t. So you are ahead of the game get to it!

Number #7 My personal favorite, Meditation is selfish

Do you believe taking some time to clear your mind and center yourself is selfish? This belief makes you the ultimate in selfishness! Yes that right if you don’t meditate you are super, mega, uber selfish!

Whether or not you want to believe the facts. Another of my husbands favs, “Don’t confuse me with the facts.”

Ignoring the thousand of studies, doctors, ancient wisdom (5000+ years), millions of individuals who KNOW, without a doubt, that meditation makes us better, more patient, more loving, more accepting, and the list goes on and on and on, person is a simple case of foolishness. If you are going to ignore all this then there is nothing we can do to help you.  You are the ultimate in self centeredness.  You making you better is the most selfless thing that a human can do.

My wonderful entrepreneurial free spirited Kiwi friend Lorelei from Aotearoa, NZ will share how great the silence of meditation can be.

  • Love this, Davene! Everything you said is so true. I used a few of those excuses before I took the Master Key course. But to your point, when you make a decision to change the trajectory of your life…it’s going to require the development of new habits. And it starts with getting control of your thoughts, which starts with quieting your mind in the first place! It’s been life-changing for me. Thank you for sharing this!
